WE CELEBRATE THE MUSICAL WORLD OF McCOY & SINGLETON ON A VERY SPECIAL PODCAST! SERIES FINALE!

 

Rose Marie McCoy and Charlie Singleton defined the sound of 1950s rhythm and blues with their popular, memorable songs. Simple yet surprising, their work ranges from wild rockers to existential ballads-and all with more hooks than an anglers' convention. This final episode of the eighth season of the podcast celebrates these champion cleffers with a wide swath of work from 1954 to 1962, as sung by a Who's Who of Black music. Fans of r&b will perhaps know some of the music in this longer-than-usual season finale, but we'll wager there are some surprises. We've dug deep to pull out some hidden gems in their copious catalog and we hope you enjoy this shout-out to a collaboration that made Black music that much better for the time it lasted.
